Some of the newer ones had the rimfire scope mount grooves. ![]() I used Weaver bases as they were readily availeable. ![]() Probably the biggest thing is getting a gunsmith to drill and tap the base mounting screws. I've installed scopes on both of them and it made them much easier for these old eyes to shoot. If memory serves me correctly the bolt slot may be in the way for a top mount. Before proceeding be sure the bolt will clear the mounts and scope tube. Oh yes, likely used for punching holes in paper and cans, etc. Do they usually tap the top of the receiver for mounts or tap the side for a side mount. I was wondering what members opinion of the rifle is, also, since my eyes aren't as good as they used to be, I was thinking of a scope. ![]() I've been away from shooting for probably 15 years.
